Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko-David Haye is Heading To Germany

You must have misread my post, because you say you agree with it and you then flatly contradict the whole point I was trying to make.
My point was that Haye got the decision in Germany against Valuev, despite the fact that it was an extremely close fight which even some British commentators scored to Valuev. That proves once and for all that provided the ref and judges are from neutral countries, anyone can get a fair decision in Germany.
I would also make the further point that incompetent judges or refs are going to be incompetent regardless of where the fight is held, but that is a completely separate issue to bias. Provided the ref and judges are from neutral countries, there is no reason to suspect hometown bias. The judge who scored the Williams-Martinez fight 119-110 for Williams wasn't guilty of hometown bias, he was just incompetent.
But I repeat, Haye is just as likely to get a fair decision in Germany as he is in the USA or anywhere else, provided the ref and judges are all from neutral countries - and the Valuev fight proves that.
And the ref and judges will be from neutral countries if Haye fights Wlad, so where is fight is held is immaterial.Comment

Amen. I couldn't agree more with a post. One thing that annoys me is that no one ever calls Haye on it. I've never seen one boxing writer in an interview ask him how anyone with such low activity can possibly claim to be the saviour of the division.
Also, I've never seen any boxing writer ask him how anyone who plans to retire immediately after unifying (even if he is capable of unifying, which I doubt) could possibly be the saviour of the division. To be the saviour of the division he'd need to stay at the top fighting excitingly for many years.
Especially the 2nd part. It really pisses me off when Haye fans infer that a Haye victory over the Klitschkos will somehow enliven the division and take it to a whole new level. This despite the fact that Wladimir probably plans on staying in the sport longer than Haye.Comment

That ref was Panamanian, not British, and if he'd refereed the fight in Germany he'd have done the same thing. That was just incompetence, not hometown bias. As I keep saying, as long the ref and judges are from neutral countries, which they will be, then where the fight is held is irrelevant.Comment

Like he could outpoint Wlad anyways, only way Haye wins is by knockout anyways. He isn't talented enough to outpoint Wlad. No one at heavyweight is, Wlad has more skills then anyone at heavyweight right now. It's just his chin that has the question. I can't wait until Wlad beats the **** out of this clown.Comment
