There was a lot of sports on free TV, apparently.

I hope she is wrong. I want every PPV to do big nums.
I am the same way. I hope you're and her are wrong and it does do even bigger numbers.

But, again anything around a mili is a huge success. I think a lot of fans have become spoiled with all these big PPV numbers. Some don't understand how hard it is to break a mili.

I have a friend at a cable sompany. She works in the VoD group, but she always provides me with estimates.

She said the final nums were a bit softer than last week's projections.

She only has one region of the country, so they project nationals using a formula. It's an inexact science.

If the numbers went crazy in one region, or certain metro areas, it could be a bit higher...or a bit lower. But she said to expect numbers that are generally in line with Delahoya-Pacquiao.

Just some info. Don't ask me for a link. Ignore this info if it has zero credibility with you. No need for snarky commnets.... just sharing what I have.

Truth be told......that sounds about right.....i though it would do 1.8 - 2.0 mil......but then again Shane has never really been a drawcard.........

          What's interesting is that...

mayweather/marquez _ sold biog. exceeded expectation. Floyd was criticized for his performance.

mayweather/mosley. didn't meet highes expectations. Floyd was praised fro his performance.

If it comes in at 1.4 million, Floyd will at least LISTEN to 50/50.

I estimated 1.6 million at best. Of course anything over 1 million is a success, but anything under 1.3 is a disappointment in my opinion. We'll see later on this week.

I guessed around 1.5-1.7. So I was in range.

I expected those numbers as well. I'm hoping it does better but it's great nonetheless.

mayweather was right. Shane is not a draw at all. When Floyd said that "Marquez has a country behind him", it's true. Us latinos overall support our fighters.

But Floyd/Shane overlaps in the same markets:
                      Urban/African American
                      LA/Southwest
                      Hardore fans
                      Interested casuals

...it doesn't bring in the uninterested mainstreamers.

Still, this fight elevated Floyd's legacy a ton. Earned him a lot of respect.
