I took it to mean the same thing as well. It bothers me that many journalists kowtow to mayweather on the point of defending the testing issue. Whether I'm for or against it is irrelevant, what bothers me is when a journalist pushes Mayweather or Ellerbe to defend their stance beyond their typical pre-rehearsed lines they go on the defensive.
I think that most journalists, in order to stay in the mayweather stable's good graces, don't force the issue. Merchant has enough time in the game to be able to push the issue without consequence. that's why Lampley said what he said. He wasn't dogging merchant in anyway..quite the contrary, he was giving him a form of kudos for pushing the issue longer than your typical journalist (the weaker men) would.
However...does it really matter now?
