    mayweather's last 3 fights..

ok, Hatton was KO'ed so this kind of makes a mockery of what im about to say, but..

i think Hatton performed better than both Marquez and Shane. He was certainly in the fight longer, perhaps up to the 4th or 5th, some might say half way, but certainly no more. Of course, in the end he got KO'ed, but in terms of a competitive performace, i'd say Hatton did the better of the three.

Marquez did the best considering he had more disadvantages and Floyd showed him more respect. However, I understand your argument for Hatton, because Hatton made Floyd work for the majority of the rounds even though he was getting dominated his footwork was good and he closed the gaps fast, just not fast enough to avoid the right hand as he came in.

you make a good point about Marquez being the more disadvantaged, i hadnt thought of it like that. I guess Ricky was too, moving up to WW and being the smaller man, but yes, i really take your point on board, a great shout.

Froch gets a bad rap for his defense but Hatton's was always far, far, FAR worse. Hatton's performace in the Mayweather fight was all gusto but I have no idae how he thought charging in with his hands down would be good. Mayweather hit him with bombs all night.

Pac showed how you really treat a fighter like Hatton though. 3 knockdowns in 6 minutes including a KTFO of the year.

Ricky was never going to fight another way, no one knew that better than Floyd that night.

He offered more in the way of an offense but it evens out as his defense was significantly worse.

i agree with you. before hatton had a point deducted in the 6th round he was boxing fairly well against floyd. he won 2/5 and almost won the 6th until the point deduction. it went downhill after joe cortez didnt let him wrestle with floyd.
its funny, aster this fight floyd became better in clinches and learned how to not get bulled around in the ring.

thats because hatton kept on going at floyd wether he was getting hit or not. shane and jmm just tried to look for openings which wasnt gonna happen. you have to pressure floyd relentlessly like hatton or castillo did even if floyd hits you or not, floyd doesnt have great power so you wont have to worry about getting hurt badly(except for hatton). its the only chance you have. or like oscar have a very good jab.
