It looked more like mental fatigue than physical. Floyd's command of "timing and inches" was impeccable and had Shane second guessing himself every time he wanted to throw. Mayweather broke him down mentally and then physically.

Also Mosley has always been a bit of a gasser IMO.

Same thing with the Cotto fight. He just didn't throw down the stretch it wasn't because he was tired, it was because he didn't want to get countered.
The Truth. The past fights I have seen Mayweather in nobody wants to throw. Hatton, Cotto, Marquez, now Mosley. Once they started getting countered they tried throwing pop shots just like floyd only it doesn't work unless you are floyd. Neutralization at its best.

maybe inactivity mixed with possible over-training could be the reason....now you throw that in a pot with his birth certificate....man, thats a recipe for disaster if you aske me.....but Floyd desreves credit for standing in there and dealing with what Shane had to offer in the 2nd round.....I didn't think his chin was so solid!!

Like I said before the fight, and so did many others, the Margarito fight is such an illusion because as we all should know by now, styles make fights.

Shane couldn't "let his hands go" after the 2nd round because Floyd was making him pay, over and over again. Check the compubox numbers - shane threw more punches than floyd, he just couldn't land for **** cuz floyd got his timing down. Floyd also would keep the perfect amount of distance between eachother...when you re-watch it, pay attention to floyds footwork, that was key.
When Floyd was hurt he should have gone for the kill. Like he did against Margrito. The comparison can be made (stretched) because Floyds legs were jelly and he was there to be hit.

But he did clinch and did well to survive.

There were many times when Shane waited too long to attack. Floyd was beating him to the punch.

I actually think Floyd offence was his best defence on saturday. Somthing i never thought id say. Still hate the ****. But he is great.

After re-watching a few rounds it does seem Floyd's offence forced Shane into retreat. He did seem to tire early, but much of it could have been the fact Floyd was out boxing, and out punching him and pushing him back.

            Being dominated is draining.
