Would be an excellent fight - one that I could see Floyd losing actually - and very meaningful in terms of legacy, however I have to agree with the people calling this a bid to gain negotiation leverage against Pacquiao.

Floyd gets 100% Credit for fighting Mosley... He gets 10000000000% for fighting Martinez and beating him would be even greater.

Martinez vs. Mayweather will never happen. Martinez has long arms and can run faster than Floyd. Plus, there's no money in this fight.

Yeah you're probably right. It wouldn't be as fair for Sergio. I was thinking from the standpoint of getting Floyd to make the fight because he'd really have no reason to make it from a risk/reward view. It probably would only happen if it is somehow in Floyd's favor since he's the one bringing everything else to the table minus the belt.

the reward is there. sergio is the legitimate 160 lbs champ. for floyd to capture the 160 lbs championship, that would be huge.

This would be an interesting fight but for wht? Martinez is not on Floyds level, also y is everyone putting Floyd at the top when this is the first top welterweight he has fought? Cotto, Clottey, Mosley, Pacquaio have fought more top contenders tht Floyd has fought not saying tht these guys r better then him as he has only fought one guy on this list, but Pacquiao fought 2 rough guys and was able to dominate. Floyds win over Mosley doesnt put him at number 1 he needs to exterminate the division and then he will get the props he deserves, but until then Pac is #1
