As for the whole "Marciano was a cruiserweight and didn't have heavyweight power" argument...

**** Sadler who worked with and trained Foreman once said that he was certain that Marciano not only had a harder and more explosive right hand than Foreman but would have likely beaten him in a fight. This is a guy who watched (not read about) both guys hit the heavybag, spar, and fight.

Jersey Joe Walcott always maintained that Marciano hit harder than Joe Louis, a guy who anyone with half a brain realizes had heavyweight power in his destruction of several 240+ pounders during his career. I have also read quotes of sparring partners, guy who were in there with both Louis and Marciano, who said that Marciano punch for punch hit significantly harder.

So you can continue to believe that Marciano was some cruiserweight who hit about as hard as Vassily Jirov, but every trainer, boxing insider, and fighter who saw him live and lived into the 1970's, 80's, 90's, (Eddie Futch, Lou Duva, Angelo Dundee and a boatload of others) would tell you that Marciano had a legitimate heavyweight punch.
Very interesting stuff, I have always been a Marciano fan, but never thought he really hit THAT hard lol

Kid - I'd agree that Rocky hit very hard for his size, but even if he hit, say as hard as Joe Frazier for argument's sake, he's still giving up 8" in height, 65 lbs in weight and 15" in reach to a guy who is very skilled. That's a lot.

Dayum, yall know yer stuff. I think you said it best with Vklit...and even Vlad...skilled. Big men with movement and good solid boxing skills. Superb jabs, and hooks off it. Solid rights, that while one wont knock you cold, 5 will.

Again, with Rock, it only took one...but could he with stand the jab and beating the big boys could dish ...and land Susie Q? Its hard to fantasy fight heavyweights, cause there is no top limit..unlike the others.

i guess it plays a part if its a 12 ore a 15 roung fight.

still i think wlad will be exheausted by marciano`s pace much earlier and that.

the rock by ko in the 10th, after taking a real heavy beating from wlad.
