Margarito honored by WBO!
By Gerardo M. Avila-Planas
Mexican WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito (32-4, 23 Ko's), who is visiting the island of Puerto Rico, received a special recognition Wednesday from the hands of WBO representative Mario Rivera-Martino at the Sanchez vs. Cazares press conference. Margarito, who in his last outing annihilated previously unbeaten welterweight prospect Kermit "The Killer" Cintron, took the opportunity to call out Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto. "I hear Cotto wants De La Hoya and I want him too," declared Margarito, "If he (De La Hoya) comes down to 147 like he says he will, I'd like an opportunity to face him. And if Cotto is considering moving up then I have no problem with fighting an elimination bout where the winner gets De La Hoya." The WBO however revealed that a fight between Margarito and WBA/WBC/IBF champion Zab Judah is more than likely to get on the works.
I would like to see that, you'd think he should move up for the money, or stay at 140?
