Floyd "The Dragon" Mayweather -The Element of Surprise

Everyone had their predictions on this fight would go. Most picked Floyd to outbox Shane by circling around the ring using his jab and countering Shane. Others picked Shane to pressure Floyd and eventually knock him out. Shanes trainer ****m Richardson predicted that Shane would punch Floyd in the mouth and he would grow wings, sprout claws and spit fireballs at Shane at which Shane would step on his tail and go underneath to beat him.

BUT nobody predicted that Floyd of all people would stand toe to toe with Shane and walk him down much like Winky Wright did to Shane. Neither Shane nor ****m expected this "element of surprise" and i think this was threw them off as everyone expected Floyd to pot shot, use his jab, counter, dart in and out, circle Mosley and just simply outbox him. Yes ****m predicted fireballs but he didn't expect it from close quarters, they expected it from a distance. Much props should go to team Mayweather for this strategy as throughout all the talks of Shane being suspectible to the jab no-one expected Mayweather to walk Shane down. "The element of surprise"- Discuss.

good post, what more can i say?

I could probably add that Mosley's right hook was the remedy to beat the philly shell. Once Floyd stopped using it Shane was lost.

I always said the way to beat him is to fight him & not just stay behind a jab. Floyd stood there & fought him. I didn't expect him to but he did. Idk wtf happen to shane but besides the win it was floyd that happened.

Thanks. In the first two rounds it definitely was working against Floyd. But we all know it usually takes him the first 4 rounds to figure out an opponent but who the hell thought that son of a gun would walk Shane down. I thought to myself for second did Mayweather lose his damn mind lol but the boy is special, a real genius in the ring.

Just when you think youv'e seen it all from Floyd he goes and something that nobody expects and rightfully so after all he is supposed to be the smaller weaker man.

Is this why Naaz gave Shane no tactical instructions?
