I actually found it a bit sad that Naazim did everything he could with Shane. By the 10th or 11th when he made Shane repeat what he was saying, you could tell that he was absolutely desperate. Shane didn't want to be in there anymore and Naazim was like a dad asking his son, "C'mon give me one more! I know you can do it! Do it for the Gipper!"
