Floyd retired as lineal welterweight after knocking out the undefeated lineal jr welter at welterweight. Came back after almost 2 year lay off and fought JMM who was number 2 p4p and then shane who was the number 1 welterweight (lineal if you consider cotto-shane determining the new lineage after floyds retirement) in the world after beating margarito.

If people thought Floyd Mayweather Jr. was going to return for a payday or two and then head back into retirement, they are very mistaken. Mayweather returns to the ring on July 18 against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Floyd has been away from the ring since a December 07 knockout of Ricky Hatton.

Since Mayweather’s return, we’ve heard the constant mention of the infamous “hit list” that Floyd provided to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Speaking exclusively with BoxingScene.com’s Luis Sandoval, Schaefer disclosed some of the names on Floyd’s hit list. Manny Pacquiao was an obvious name. Others like Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto are there too. And even a potential fight the down the road with junior welterweight Victor Ortiz, who many view as a future superstar in the sport.

“Yes, he has a hit list. The same thing with Marquez. Both guys want to fight the best. Mayweather, should he win that fight, he wants to go on and [continue to] fight. There is Pacquiao on the list, there is Shane Mosley on the list, there is potentially a Miguel Cotto on the list and maybe down the road somebody like Victor Ortiz,” Schaefer said to BoxingScene.

Marquez was part of the hitlist? That's sad.

Pacquiao ducked a fight over random testing.
you really believe that? when he accepted the testing floyd changed his demands to a 40 million flat offer. it was a bluff. these otehr guys on the list were no good. a shot mosley, a faded cotto, a small marquez, victor ortiz? garbage resume. had a chance to fight prime greats and bottled it because he knew peole would give him the same credit whether they were still good or not. look how much credit he got for fighting a non boxer and getting to 50-0. once you have the people in the palm of your hand you can feed them sh-it and they will love it.

Believe that? It's a fact you moron. That's the reason they gave for turning down the fight.
