After last night, nobody will be defending Pacquiao about the drug testing. You had both Mayweather and Mosley talking about how the testing was necessary and basically challenging Pacquiao to man up and do it.
The casual fans who didn't understand the issue now do. The take home message was, "If Manny takes the blood tests, we have a fight."
All they know is one guy is willing to be tested for steroids; the other isn't.
It raises a red flag over Pacquiao's entire career. At this point, say he takes the tests and loses by a landslide to Floyd. Then it looks like he got off roids for one fight and that the rest of his career he was still cheating. He made the biggest mistake of his life in refusing to be tested for steroids. Most people immediately label you guilty and rightfully so. There is not one legitimate reason to not have blood testing.
So with that said, I think Pacquiao gets out of boxing for good if he wins this upcoming bid. Like I said, the only way to make things right is to take the tests all the way up to the fight (no cutoff dates) AND he has to still beat Floyd. If he loses, his reputation for the last five years is suddenly in question.
Let's hope he loses his bid, takes the tests and makes the fight we all want to see.
