Last nights Floyd would have stopp[ed Cotto by tko.

Floyd certainly has the ability, speed, and power to TKO Cotto, but let's be honest, it's just not his style. He never does any more than he has to do to win a fight. It's a tactic that has served him well. Floyd is built to dominate his opponents on the score cards through technical brilliance. Pacquaio is built to stop his opponents through destructive excellence.
They are two different fighters. I have no doubt in my mind that Manny would have ko'd Mosley last night. But does that diminish Mayweather's performance? Not in the slightest. As I said Floyd dissects and punishes his opponents over 12 rounds, while Pacquaio likes to hurt them as early as possible, and when he senses weakness, he pushes for the KO.
Both are the best at what they do, and that is what makes a fight between the best two fighters of the modern era, such a brilliant one.Last edited by BetterCallSaul; 05-02-2010, 11:03 AM.Comment

All OST bull**** aside, I think there is potential for a Floyd clinic to be put on Manny. And I'm a big fan of Manny but I have to be honest with myself after last nights outing against Shane...Comment

Cotto was getting beat in the last rounds by the same gassed out version of Shane Mosley that Mayweather dominated. I don't think a potential Mayweather-Cotto fight merits much discussion and Floyd wouldn't get any credit from me if he fought Cotto at this point.Comment

Pac aggression would make him walk into a punch. It would be competitive for a while but he would make a mistake and then it would be a one sided beatdown, followed by a tko stoppage. Just my opinion but either way I give Pac very little chance, even less now to beat Mayweather.Comment
