    How do you beat Floyd

Short of catching him with a big shot...what is the strategy in beating him? I would think you would have to beat him at his own game...speed, defense, countering, pot-shotting...A fighter like Devon Alexander, I think, would have the correct style, but he is small...

A fast stiff jab seems like the most effective weapon I have seen thusfar.

As i said in another thread

You see, this is it though. This is ALWAYS been it People trying their hardest to land something clean, and figure floyd out. That's the beauty of the shoulder roll. When your opponent stands sideways infront of you like that you pretty much only have 1 hand to to work with, your left hand.

Your right hand risks hitting floyd inthe back (and getting penalized) and you can only bring it over his shoulder, upstairs, to make contact with it.

This is why JABS are so good against floyd. Because with his stance, your left hand is your only weapon, really. So it pays to have a great jab (great left hand). If you're dependent on your power hand, you're out of luck.

This is why fighers get baffled in the ring against floyd. I spar against it in the gym all the time and do it as well to piss people off, they literally get lost. Stubborn guys who don't give a damn, will hit you anywhere, as long as they make contact (margi, for example) and southpaws best combat that roll.

Pacman is a pretty accurate puncher as well. he's always on the money with his shots. For that reason a lone i feel as though he'd be flustered in there too. But roach is smart and pacman always listens to him, i'm sure roach would let him know, don't worry about landing clean, just swing (Calzaghe/Bhop, anyone?) but it's easiar said than done.

I've always thought and said it would take someone who's been boxing their whole life; someone who has as much speed, skill, and natural ability as Floyd has. A fighter who is on dead equal level to Floyd.

And right now... he's the only one up there.

A young welterweight version of Roy Jones Jr would beat him, but none exists.

                  1) stiff jab

                  2) feints

                  3) gotta stay busy

                  4) when you exit, you gotta get your defense up
