I disagree that the smiling is bravado, because this is something that Floyd does in all of his fights. Watch the Oscar fight for instance: Any time his opponent lands something that makes the crowd go crazy, he has a little chuckle at it. That's because he knows it didn't really do ****, and that he's ultimately still in control. It is clearly of genuine humor, not embarrassment.
I have never seen a boxer look as natural in the ring as Floyd does.

Right on. Props for giving props. The calmness he exudes, the punch selection, the fact that he can adapt and fight any way he wants, the brilliant array of punches he can throw with either hand, the way he transitions from impregnable defence to potent offence so seamlessly, the continuous boxing masterclasses he gives, the lack of any discernible weaknesses...
His resume might not be the best ever, but his skillset might just very well be. Or at least one of the best.
And the ledger is becoming underrated at this point (at least, in these non-casual discussion circles).Comment

No, it's his way of brushing it off. I smile everytime i get hit in the gym, and then I nod.I disagree that the smiling is bravado, because this is something that Floyd does in all of his fights. Even if i'm buzzed. It's my way of saying " good shot " but i want everyone watching to think it meant nothing, so i smile.Comment

Thats what got me in that fight, He was hurt and wobbled badly in the 2nd round, Normally the fighter that gets hurt would come out in the next round and probably get stopped, Or the one that was hurt in the previous round would look to move and not get tagged just to clear their head and get their legs back, But the way Mayweather fought the 3rd round just made me put him on another level right now.Comment

I'm sorry, but what you and Antonio Margarito do has nothing to do with Floyd Mayweather Jr. I mean, have your own opinion, but use better examples to back them up. And actually, Margarito smiles when he sees an opponent giving a good effort and showing movement. In his mind it's funny because he trusts his granite chin, and he confidently continues to stalk until he can finish them off. But was he smiling during the 9th round of the Mosley fight when Shane was on his ass? No. Did Floyd smile when Shane was on his ass? Yes. And even in his corner after his leg buckled? Yes. Ok, and how did he come out in the third round again? I'm not saying it meant nothing. My whole point is the dude never gets rattled, and he never for one second believes that he is not in control of the fight.Comment
