Age is a factor. Fighters do not improve after their mid thirties,its nuts to suggest otherwise. Mayweather is at his peak now,but he will decline too in 3 years time or so,providing he is still boxing. Its a fact of life.

Fighters are adaptable to the passage of time, the mid 30's isn't the automatic death-knell . . . and Mosley had proved he could adapt to it, too . . . Shane was enjoying an Indian Summer . . . since having Cotto backpedalling and hurtin' in the championship rounds of their fight, he'd benefited from the boosted morale, better preparations and strategic augmentation of a new corner . . . and was coming off a destruction of a feared welterweight terror, having kept in great shape in the year of self-imposed exile between . . . and came to the ring last night in equal best shape (if not best) of any of his series of fights in the last few years . . . this Mosley was arguably better, or at least as good as, the one whom Cotto fought, Floyd just made him look like nothing after round 2.


Floyd's already declined and adapted. You could see clear evidence of that last night. To say that everyone will decline until they eventually get caught out if they don't hang 'em up is a 'DUHH' statement.
