In a fight reminiscent of his bout with Diego Corrales, Mosley was supposed to provide Mayweather his biggest challenge and maybe his first lost, but once again Mayweather proved that he is indeed a once in a generation fighter by dominating Mosley en route to a lopsided decision.

It didn't start out as planned since Mosley decisively won the first two rounds and even staggered Mayweather twice in the second round. However, Mayweather was able to survive Mosley's early onslaught and came back to win the third round by timing and countering Mosley's right hand.

Mayweather also confused Mosley by becoming more aggressive and actually taking the fight to the latter. Using his patented defense and accuracy along with his obvious faster hands, he slowly walked down Mosley by using his jabs and countering Mosley with his right hand.

Soon, Mosley found himself the receiving ends of multiple combinations courtesy of his inability to defend against Mayweather's right hand, who was landing it at will for most of the fight.

But his downfall may have been his near knock out of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the second round. After that round, he seemed to divert from the game plan of jabbing his way inside and began to load up on one big shot in hopes of landing one.

A mistake when facing one of the best defensive fighter in the history of the sport. Floyd Mayweather wasn't called Pretty Boy early in his career for nothing.

It was a great win for Floyd Mayweather, but his impressive win against Mosley did not prove that he will able to do the same against Pacquiao. Pacquiao's fast hands, unpredictability, and ability to punch from all angles non stop for the whole 12 rounds along with his stamina will be a stiff test for Mayweather Jr.

The 'Fight of the Century' must happen and needs to happen. Mayweather's win against Mosley might have been impressive, but it did not take away the fact that the fight was between the second and third best fighters today.

To be the best, Mayweather still needs to fight the current pound for pound king who has accomplished more during his career and faced a greater number of great fighters.

    Who is that?

Manny Pacquiao, the only fighter to ever win 7 titles in 7 different weight divisions and whose accomplishments still dwarfs those of Mayweather's even with the latter's win against Mosley.
