    Upcoming fights at 160...

There are a couple of fights that are coming up at middleweight that are pretty sure to have an impact on the division in a big way, I figured I would just review some of them and see what people takes on them were.

-- Bernard Hopkins vs Jermain Taylor --
This is pretty much the obvious one, the winner is... well... the champion. So I guess that is kind of a big deal or something. I would expect Hopkins to win a suprisingly boring (if somewhat competitive) decision over Taylor in this one, but with all of these upsets and fighters getting old overnight I would not be shocked if Taylor somehow managed to defeat the old man.

-- Felix Sturm vs Jorge Sendra --
OK, I will be honost here, I have no idea who this Sendra guy is, so I am going to go ahead and assume that Sturm is gonna win this one. If this is the case then he remains probably the most deserving man for a title shot who is not named Wright.

-- Sam Soliman vs Tarvis Simms --
Soliman is probably the most under the radar of all the middleweight contenders. He has decent pop and has shown that he can win consitently, that being said I think that Tarvis is EVEN MORE under the radar and is actually really talented. He is the brother of recently stripped Jr. Middleweight Travis Simms (I know, evil parents) I expect him to win but still be a year or so away from having any real sort of claim at a title shot.

Okay thats about it, what do all of you think and where is the middleweight division headed?

I am interested to see how everything shapes up after Hopkins wins/loses/moves up/retires/whathaveyou.

I think that there are about 6 very intriguing middleweights right now.

Jermain Taylor (is he the heir apparent?)
Felix Sturm (will he be the MW dark horse and take the title?)
Winky Wright (can he take over with Hop retiring?)
Kingsley Ikeke (can his size and reach be a factor?)
Sam Solimon (he's underrated...will his odd style get him noticed?)
Ike Quartey (can he make a comeback after such a long layoff?)

Add to this Kelly Pavlik who I'm unfamiliar with but who I hear is a pretty good fighter and you have a strong future. Also add to this the prospects of Kassim Ouma and Travis Simms possibly moving up in the future.

i think ikeke will give everyone at 160 fits with his size and reach. plus he has shown he can take a punch, echols was one of the harder punchers at middle in recent years
