Mayweather was always p4p1, He just let Pacquaio hold onto his crown while he was retired. He's back, and the crown is back in his hands.

Mayweather just isn't number 1. But considering this board is dominated by American's, it is understandable why they would want to put their own at the top.

In my opinion - Last seven opponents

Clottey UD, Cotto KO-11, Hatton KO-2, De La Hoya KO-8, Diaz KO, Barrera, Marquez

          >>>>>

Mosley UD, Marquez UD, Hatton KO-10, De La Hoya SD, Baldomir, Judah, Mitchell KO.

Mayweather's last three fights he beat the lineal WW champion and #3 P4P Shane Mosley, #2 rated P4P Juan Manuel Marquez, and rated top 10 P4P former WW champion undefeated Ricky Hatton.

Pacquiao's last 3 fights he beat #5-6 top WW not rated at all in the top 10 P4P rankings Joshua Clottey, top 7-8 P4P & top 3 WW Miguel Cotto, # 1 JWW and not rated at all in the top 10 p4p rankings Ricky Hatton.

I am gonna have to go with Floyd Mayweather as my #1 P4P best fighter in the world.

Your missing the picture....if Floyd didnt retire he would still be #1.....but taking a 2 years break, he doesnt just come back and #1....plus all of Pacs wins were ove much bigger men and ranked very high.....since 2004 manny has had 10 fights with guys that are top Ten P4P....Floyd hasnt come close

Floyd Mayweather deserves the #1 spot but they really need to fight(Pac) and then decide who is the true P4P King..

Theres a reason The Boxing Association of America chose Manny as Fighter of the decade by a very wide margin, because thats there job and they know thier boxing.....plus Manny fought better opposition for himself not when you compare then to Floyd

You have to put the weights in perspective, you also have to put where the fighters where at in their careers.

Mosley has not lost since 07, was lineal WW champ, #3 p4p.
Marquez called out Mayweather after going 2(2)-0 at LW and finally giving up on calling out Pacquiao so he wanted a shot at another big star Floyd Mayweather. Marquez was p4p #2. Hatton was an undefeated former WW champ and rated in the ring top 10 p4p rankings. De La Hoya was JMW(154) WBC champ and Floyd fought him up in that weight class not no 147. Baldomir was lineal(#1) WW champ and was thee man to beat at WW atm and hadn't lost in 8 years before losing to Mayweather. Judah was a top 5 WW and was still considered an "elite" WW att the time, no matter how many people dispute it now. Floyd fought the winner and loser of Baldomir vs Judah and beat them both.

exactly, Pacman has been delivering much more than Floyd has. Finally, this last fight he showed us he can be offensive, but Pacman has been showing us that.. now the fight between those two will seriously determine who will be remembered as the greater fighter in the history books, that fight NEEDS to happen!
