Looking back Calzaghe was pretty naive

I was just thinking about the whole Calzaghe avoiding Pavlik thing before he fought Hopkins. Even then I believed Joe would dominate Pavlik but for some reason Joe just didn't want that fight.

Joe really missed the boat with that fight he could have earnt millions for what - given his skill level - would have been a relatively easy payday too.

I wonder why he didn't take the fight?

I also wonder if he regrets it?

    Thoughts?

the money wasn't right. Same reason every fight doesn't happen. The whole ducking thing is nonsense. People very very rarely duck each other in this

I think both Joe and his dad were/are genuinely ****** people; I think they missed a lot of opportunities with Joe's career because of it.

I think everyone can agree on that.

Still, it was a good career that falls short of all time greatness because of the lack of named opponents and fights.

He should have been in America after beating Eubank.

What was his reason for staying in Britain?
