Promoters should give fans better PPV cards

You look at the undercard for tonights PPV and it makes you yawn. Only one fight of any interest besides the main event.

Don't crucify me for saying this, but can't boxing promoters take a page from UFC and put multiple quality fights on the same card?

Let's just take one random UFC PPV card as an example. UFC 110 had a main event of Cain Valasquez and Noguiera. Not a sensational fight, but look how they back it up. On the undercard they had Wanderlei Silva, Michael Bisping, Joe Stevenson, Keith Jardine, and Mirko Cro Cop. That's 7 notable fighters on one PPV. So if the main event stinks, you have a bunch of fights to fall back on.

As someone who loves boxing, I wish promoters would start giving fans the **** for their buck. Let's say tonight's PPV had a "UFC like" undercard.

We could also be watching Marquez-Diaz 2, Ortiz-Campbell, and Khan-Malignaggi. All fights are Goldenboy and would be easy to package together.

If Oscar was serious when he retired and said "this sport needs help", he can start with this. Get fans interested in the sport and not just disappointed that they had to shell out $60 to watch one fight.

It doesn't make sense to have those fights on the PPV. All 3 bouts you listed can headline in different arenas, make a decent gate, and draw in good ratings for HBO. If boxing loses demand then they would but till then you wouldn't give up all this money just to making boxing fans happy. Besides even a loaded undercard will not drive up the buys so it just doesn't make money sense. BTW, the names may not be great but the undercard tonight should have good scraps.

      .
It's not always the promoters' fault. There are real boxing fans who realize what they are getting...and then there are novice fans who only care about rither bloodlust or the main event.

Here's an example: What was mayweather's lowest PPV? Who else was on that PPV card?

I understand the finances behind what they do, I really do. But if you haven't noticed, boxing attendance in America is down. I watch these so called headliners on TV and all I see is empty seats.

But how many big PPVs are there during the course of a year? 4-5 maybe?

It wouldn't hurt to put on your best show during those nights. If I'm a casual fan and I have to sit through 3 hours of no name fights and then the main event is a bust, what's the chances I go to see the next boxing event in my area? Slimmer than if the card was stacked, I guarentee it. It may seem like financially they're doing the right thing, but I believe they would only help themselves by stacking these cards.

More satisfaction with PPV cards = more interest in other boxing events = more money to be had overall. Why on a night where nearly 2 million will tune in, would you decide to not promote the greatness of what boxing can be?
