    a letter about Floyd/Mosley from a website

    By Greg Rowe

Welcome Forwards Greg Rowe?? How are things?? I've analyzed the whole Mayweather/Mosley thing and I'm convinced that Mosley is LACKING CONFIDENCE and he knows he's in way over his head. Nazzim Richardson is DOING all of the TALKING, but won't be doing the fighting. I'm also confident that any loose ends in Mayweather's preparation WILL be TIGHTENED UP by Floyd Sr, who it looks like has EAGLE eyes when Floyd is working it. The way the Mayweather Brothers' (Jeff, Roger and Floyd Sr) have all come together to support Floyd Jr WITHOUT conflict, in this endeavor is a testament to their family. That being said I'VE always given ALL of Floyd's opponents A BIG CHANCE of defeating Money May (Judah, Baldi, Oscar, Hatton, Marquez), and it will be no DIFFERENT with Mosley. I've got first hand information from several of the boxing writers I talk to that Shane Mosley has had a VERY TOUGH training camp in which he took a few beatings from his sparring partners and was SLOW to pull the trigger. I also heard from a LV boxing beat WRITER that Mayweather was SO MUCH sharper than he has ever seen him, and was putting it on his sparring mates, including Steve Forbes and running some of them out of the gym. What also is said about Mayweather is that he is bigger, stronger and more buff to complement his quickness and speed. I believe this fight won't even resemble Mayweather/Castillo I as some are saying that was a long time ago and Mayweather was still evolving as a fighter. This fight will go similar to Mayweather/Gatti and/or Mayweather/Corrales with Mosley retiring on his stool or getting TKO'd by the 7th or 8th round. Robert Jackson

GR: Im good bro thanks. Ya know I don’t know what to think about this lack of confidence thing Shane has or people say he has. I don’t think he lacks confidence so much as he looks nervous to me. I saw his interview on ESPN last night and he didn’t look as if he was ready, it was a somewhat scared/staring off into space look. So I don’t know what to think, I guess we will find out tomorrow night. Shane has never really been a talker so its no shock tome Nazzim is being the mouth in camp. I have read things by guys like Bert Sugar and Doug Fisher who seem to think Shane has the advantage going in the corner. I am like “uhh how so?” I mean Floyd has two of the best trainers and game planners in his corner. Shane has one, who I think is as good a schemer as there is but we will have to see Saturday just how good a trainer he really is because lets face it, Bhop trains himself. I have heard Shane hasn’t looked that good and has been getting tore up in sparring too and as I said, it’s all speculation at this point - if so it will show Saturday night. Floyd looks sharp, he has used Steve Forbes and former BT guest writer Ishe Smith as his main sparring partners. What I always say is, it is always easier for Mayweather to find sparring partners to help him get ready for someone’s style than it is someone else to find a guy of Mayweather’s caliber to help them get ready. It is what it is. Floyd isn’t bigger than Shane, Floyd has grown into a true welter in his time off but Shane is still a tad bit bigger overall. His reach is 74 inches to Floyd’s 72 yet armpit to the end of the fist Floyd is 26 inches while Shane is 25. This WILL NOT be Mayweather/Gatti or Mayweather/Corrales- that is ridiculous straight up. Shane is the best fighter Floyd has fought and vise versa. I do not see Floyd stopping Shane unless he jumps on him from the opening bell and goes to the body. In order for Floyd to stop Shane he is going to have to put his punches together, something he rarely does anymore. It will be a great fight, one that should not be missed. We will discuss this in next week’s bag. Thanks
