ever try emulate your boxing hero in the ring?

i love all kinds of boxers from bob and weave punchers (like mike tyson), to shoulder roll expert counter punchers (like JT and mayweather), to speedsters (like SRL RJJ), to crafty vets (hopkins, barrera).

just wanted to know if anyone had any stories where you tried to emulate any boxer you like in the ring and paid for it (or if it worked).

one time i was sparring with this wyly kid (who out weighed me by at least 30lbs. though) and i was catching him with counters all day cuz he kept comming foward. i started to get ****y and put both my hand behind my back...that's when i got buzzed. lol!

    anyone wanna share their stories?

My first time sparring I tried two things.

I used Morales fake, where he lifts his right arm up high like he's going to throw but fakes and then uses the left as an uppercut. He did it to Manny. And it worked great.

And since it was my first time in I was getting fatigued bad, In a 3 rounder (Perfect condition, but new to boxing) So I tried Winky's high guard walk down just to regain my wind. It okay in the sense that I can take body punches really well, but I'll admit, I really hate getting hit. When I was throwing everything was all good, but when I fatigued the ring was the last place in the world I wanted to be.

The only move I have used in the ring like that was the classic Jones spin your hand in mid air and either fire in a jab or a straight.. Good thing my sparring partner was slow as Kirk Johnson, so it actually caught him right up in the nose. He was a little bloodied up after and complained to the trainer i was "showboating". Havent really used much of that stuff anymore

I boxed with a friend of mine and I knew he couldnt do much to me so I was in that Roy Jones stance, arm low, swaying back and forth. Jones is not my favorite, but I wish I could throw a left hook like Wladimir Klitschko. I knocked him down in about a minute, lol and he quit like Tyson.

Not necessarily in sparring but when i first started boxing i was learning to jab (obviously) and i ****ed it up, lol how easy is that punch. What i done was copy Naseem and like jump into the punch lol, my trainer was like "keep your feet on the ground" LOL. How ****ing nooby was i then hehe.

Recently in the ring i have become a fan of the bob and weave style that Hamed occasionally used. Even when their reach is less superior to mine, i still get down and then come up with a combo of like jab, cross, left hook to body. Also it has helped me become like a bar of soap in the ring lol. They cant hit me.
