    I think Arum didn't want to lose two meal tickets at once... he was planning on valero being the next big thing, figuring pavlik was becomming iffy, cotto had lost favor as well... manny said only a few more fights then he was retiring...

    I think Manny vs Valero was probably going to be a pass the torch kind of fight,

    Win or lose Valero would have had been skyrocketed into bigger fights.

          I think it would have done the same because Joshua Clottey was a proven welterweight before he fought Pacquaio and Edwin hadnt really fought anyone of any note before he fought Tony Demarco but the hype around Edwin would have helped the sales its a shame because if Edwin could have won 2 or 3 more fights against good lww opponents and knocked them out this fight would have been huge and an absolute war at that
