Hasegawa was winning the fight. he got hit with some good shots. he should have taken a knee but he didnt and lost the fight. Too much pride I guess.

He was winning the fight until he got caught with 2 big left hooks.

I thought the stoppage was early to be honest.

Hasegawa is a very skilled fighter. He was leading at the time of the stoppage IMO.

However, as I said before the fight, Hasegawa hadn't really fought a top fighter since 2005 and that all the P4P talk may have been a bit premature.

EDIT: It should also be noted that Montiel was finding more success in the fight.

Those two lefts by Montiel were lethal and then he got caught on the ropes, after that it got ugly. I had Hasegawa up after the first three but what a dramatic turnaround for Montiel. He was definitley starting to look a bit better in the third though

has Montiel have a real shot to be the first Mexican to be champion in 4 weight class?

or he is too small and bantam is heaviest?
