BoxingScene.com has confirmed WBA featherweight champion Chris John suffered a shoulder injury and was forced to withdraw from his scheduled defense against Fernando Saucedo. The fight was set to take place on May 22 in Bali, Indonesia, and it would have been John's first fight in the country since January 2008. The severity of the injury is unknown. The event promoters are looking to reschedule the fight, but they have to wait on the final medical prognosis to determine how long it's going to take for John's injury to heal.

John is wasting his talent with fights like this. He should fight somebody like Gamboa, JuanMa or Cabellero or give it up because slapping around clubfighters like Saucedo is a waste of time and he's not getting any younger

When he gets back, John needs to get to business with the other names at 126. Fuck the soft fights. he might be the best guy at FW but it's time for him to prove it against tougher comp.
