with that said, people are sleeping on shane... yes, if shane goes out there wildly swinging... he will get caught. he will get "exposed". but i would like to think his training camp prepped him better than that... ****m knows better than that.... i think everyone on this damn forum knows that. LOL.
the question is whether shane can implement the plan and not lose patience... another concern is him running out of gas.

now, people talk about blueprints... i think its fair to say that floyds wins over judah, castillo, oscar shows some habits that shane can use to his advantage.... gunning for a KO will not work on floyd. patiently winning rounds with effective aggression proved to be successful against floyd...
the key is to have the judges on your side and aim for a decision.

    • judah didnt have the discipline to keep up the work... but he DID do good in the early rounds... judah didnt have answers once floyd adjusted...
    • castillo did well against floyd (castillo landed 173/377 in power punches, floyd landed 67/152) stats pulled from compubox.
    • oscar did enough to win rounds with aggression (although ineffective) but still had the judges awarding it to him... but he ran out of gas.

my point is this: floyd does not like getting hit... he will cover up and shoulder roll... if a fighter were to stay active and throw effective combos, it can potentially nullify floyds offense due to him blocking and waiting for a counter... by doing so, a fighter can POSSIBLY win enough rounds against floyd. its not pretty nor exciting, but it will get the job done.
Excellent analysis my man! I couldn't agree more

        • found this and thought I'd share this.....I bold the part I thought was funny as hell...that made me laugh.....but it seems ALOT of people are rollin' with Mosley!!

Some would say Mayweather-Mosley and Pacquiao-Clottey isn't the same as Mayweather-Pacquiao. Others say less is better than nothing. These two fights are not really "less," of anything. They are great matches, and long over due. Many thought that Clottey had the tools to upset Paquiao, while others are convinced that Mosley will defeat Mayweather.

Mosley has a 46-5 record with 39 KOs and undefeated Mayweather is 40-0 with 25 KOs. Some sports analysts see Mosley's age presenting the younger Mayweather with the opportunity for victory. Recall that the "old man" destroyed Antonio Margarito --who liked fighting with loaded gloves. I believe Mosley will erase Mayweather's perfect record.

Mayweather has avoided a fighter of the caliber of Mosley, including welterweights in the 147 lb. level, such as Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams, Kermit Cintron, Clottey, and Margarito. He chased Pacquiao away into the gloves of Clottey. While talking to Mosley, I was impressed by the fact that he was very happy that finally he was getting his dues--a mega pay-per-view fight after languishing in the no man's land of boxing.

"I am going to give Floyd an old fashion whipping, and his '0' will disappear and, he fears it, because he cannot handle defeat like most of us in the hurt business, and move forward," Mosely said. "He may even retire, but this time, but, for good." Mosley hopes to also fight Pacquiao.

Mayweather was his usual self, saying: "If I beat Shane which I know I will, I'll be accused of beating an old man that's too slow. I'm in a no win situation because what fans don't understand is that in his prime I would've beaten him anyway. I am the undefeated fighter and come May 1st I will still leave that ring undefeated. Shane doesn't jab, he lost to the likes of Miguel Cotto, Winky Wright. So how could he beat me the best fighter in the world?"

I honestly gave Mayweather, Jr. a clear cut victory advantage over Pacquiao. With Mosley, I feel Floyd actually bit off more than he can chew.

So you gonna ban yourself if shane wins or post as alt?

But nothing still changes the fact Shane is indeed old!

It's really going to be highly embarrasing for floyd once he gets a good drubbing from shane.

              WAR SHANE!!!

Mosley is arguably the #1 welterweight, coming off the most impressive performance of his career (albeit 16 months ago), and Mayweather is an undefeated, P4P #1 or #2 (depending on your perspective) fighter in the world facing his toughest challenge yet. I don't see how this can possibly be over hyped!

If it doesn't live up to the hype, then that's a different story. But I'm betting it will.
i believe people feel it's overhyped cause it shouldve happened long ago, but both have avoided it(shane when asked if he would fight mayweather after collazo said he had a toothache). besides that mosley is known to have problem against technical boxers; winky, vernon, and cotto to a degree.

the only way i see mosley winning depends on his trainers gameplan and if shane is able to carry out that gameplan w/o getting discouraged. majority of us saw his facial expression against winky and vernon, he looked as if he had given up. if he's able to keep his composure through the fight it could make for a good fight, but my guess it's going to be another floyd snoozer.

however, how can you say he trains harder than anyone and is in the best shape of anyone in boxing? where do you get these facts where you can compare him to every single boxer out there and know he is physically superior in stamina and endurance in every way?

you are not in the gym with him and every other fighter in america, how do you know?

if you compare his punch statistics he isnt as active as many other fighters out there.

i have no doubt he is in the best shape he is physically capable of.

but it just gets tiresome hearing you say he is in the best shape of anyone in boxing when you cant possibly know that in any way. ever.

another thing, shane has been a dominating fighter against others fighters who dont just come forward and are slow. come on now.

                  cotto is a fast boxer.
collazo is a quick counter puncher, isnt a stalking slow boxer.
what about dlh? he was not slow in his prime and was a great boxer during both fights.
if margacheato was so slow how did he even land his plaster against cotto?
winky had quick hands in his prime.

i have no problem with you rooting for floyd, that is cool.

just dont be dishonest and illogical
Everybody who watches boxing and knows about
or of Floyd Mayweather Jr, knows the kid trains
harder than anyone. It's not me making it up.
Also, I have a friend who is a photographer that
lives in Vegas and knows Floyd personally, so YES
I do know a lil more than you do AND I was
told that Floyd trains like a beast all the time.
Why are you so upset that I said them things in
my post? And how come you gave me all of these
examples of other fighters? Cotto, Collazo and Margarito
are all slower than Shane. Cotto was not known
for his boxing ability but more known for his pressure
and power. Collazo? He is not technically elite, good
but not great AND he was injured and Shane still couldn't
KO him. Margarito has always been there to hit.
Winky did have quick hands and what happened? Molsey
lost. Cotto used a lil boxing skill and what happened?
Mosley lost. If Shane wins tomorrow then more power
to him but I'm confident Floyd beats him.
