  • paul williams needs to worry about his opponent---and not about floyd---he needs to stop overrating himself, coz he damn near lost to sergio---and he needs to bounce back from that performance---paul williams can say what he wants, but after floyd dominates shane, paul will be silenced, and if he wants it, he needs to step up his competition, coz floyd will be more than happy to serve him also---paul makes so many mistakes and gets hit way too much for me to think otherwise----floyd whoops his ass too---that size **** don't mean nothing, floyd would attack paul's body and hit him at will, you know why? coz paul doesn't fight his size, he bends down way too much, and you seen what a slick fighter can do to him, you seen what a conservative fighter can do to him----floyd would do more and make paul have to rethink how he fights---coz it won't work with fliyd---he's not a complete fighter for nothing---

with that said, people are sleeping on shane... yes, if shane goes out there wildly swinging... he will get caught. he will get "exposed". but i would like to think his training camp prepped him better than that... ****m knows better than that.... i think everyone on this damn forum knows that. LOL.
the question is whether shane can implement the plan and not lose patience... another concern is him running out of gas.

now, people talk about blueprints... i think its fair to say that floyds wins over judah, castillo, oscar shows some habits that shane can use to his advantage.... gunning for a KO will not work on floyd. patiently winning rounds with effective aggression proved to be successful against floyd...
the key is to have the judges on your side and aim for a decision.

        • judah didnt have the discipline to keep up the work... but he DID do good in the early rounds... judah didnt have answers once floyd adjusted...
        • castillo did well against floyd (castillo landed 173/377 in power punches, floyd landed 67/152) stats pulled from compubox.
        • oscar did enough to win rounds with aggression (although ineffective) but still had the judges awarding it to him... but he ran out of gas.

my point is this: floyd does not like getting hit... he will cover up and shoulder roll... if a fighter were to stay active and throw effective combos, it can potentially nullify floyds offense due to him blocking and waiting for a counter... by doing so, a fighter can POSSIBLY win enough rounds against floyd. its not pretty nor exciting, but it will get the job done.
Great write-up. People don't get how effective Judah was against Mayweather, in my opinion at least, Judah just ran out of gas after 6 rounds, he's now known as someone who just runs out of gas in the latter rounds. Judah was a fast, power punching southpaw with good footwork, but you know, the gas tank....I made an earlier post about Oscar running out of gas in the Mayweather fight, which I get, and don't even think he should have fought past Mayorga, but it just proves if Shane comes with the correct gameplan and sticks to it, doesn't get careless, his chances increase greatly. I just hope he is conditioned well enough to keep that work rate up for 12 rounds, if it goes the distance.

        • I see a lot of Floyd fans taking shots at P-Will now... Where is Burner? 13 pagers and no Burner. Why isn't he defending his boy?

          • judah wasn't that effective against floyd, or else he would have won more rounds than he did---people get caught up in zab landing a few punches on floyd----zab won no more than 3 rounds in that fight--and the rounds he won---the compubox stats are nearly even---the punches zab did land on floyd, didnt' hit floyd clean enough to damage him---he caught floyd no different than corley caught zab, chavez caught floyd, jmm caught floyd, and they were just landed punches---floyd landed much more effective punches to zab's body----zab gassed out because floyd hit in the spots that gassed him out--landing great body punches, whille zab didn't expect him---floyd gassed zab out, zab didn't gas himself out---zab has won 12 round fights before---so the gassing out bull**** excuse is ******---floyd said zab goes 6 rounds and gasses out---well, it wasn't like floyd let zab hit him for 6 rounds and waited to open up on zab after round 6 idiots, he landed the punches that tired zab out, while making zab miss---floyd's timing tired out zab and oscar---offensive and defensive timing----

and the day paul williams outboxes floyd mayweather is the day he beats floyd mayweather, and that day will never come---you'd have to be a fool to think paul williams has the skills to outbox the master boxer---paul williams said it himself, it would be suicide to think he can outbox floyd--he knows---maybe the poster knows something paul doesn't---you have the confidence for paul---coz he damn sure doesn't have it-----floyd would not only outbox paul, but would outhtink paul, outland paul, make paul miss----a slick boxer has already made paul look sloppy----and floyd is so much slicker than that slick boxer-----floyd beats paul convincingly----and it wouldn't surprise me one bit---

Yeah Floyd has no chance at 154.

Funny how he has a title there. People want to act like an older, inactive DLH wasn't cherry picking, but are horrified by the thought of Floyd fighting Martinez or Williams at 154.

              • pbftxrs316, i'm going to have to disaggree with you if paul williams fights floyd mayweather. i think the punisher is too tall, too active and energetic and whoop floyd's ass way more than he did to winky wright. Winky was a great fighter. I'm also going to have to disagree with paul williams, shane mosley has problems with counter punchers and people who use lateral movement instead of stationary movements. floyd got this one even though i want shane to knock his ass the **** out.

Didnt know that was possible, but if Quintana was able to get the job done, why not Floyd?
