What do you think guys? I don't know how the judges scored it but i think joel cassamayor clearly won it. Since pacquiao and JMM drew their may 8 encounter, i had been very observant of watching a boxing match very seriously and i often wonder what is really the basis of judging a fight, is it just counting the punches, or there's some more to it?
I thought Cassamayor won

i myself, find it hard to give a fight to a guy...who was backing up basically the whole fight..when he finally decided to come forward..he did much better..but in my eyes, it was too late..KD should of won the fight. -
how did you see that? i agree with you that kd was the aggressor but i don't think he outpunched cassa. and cassa was a little dirty at times using his head a couple of times.Originally posted by xKillingJokexi myself, find it hard to give a fight to a guy...who was backing up basically the whole fight..when he finally decided to come forward..he did much better..but in my eyes, it was too late..KD should of won the fight.Comment

When the guy going backwards lands more punches, he's fought effectivly.
Granted the punch stats were even, but so was the fight IMO.
I had it 6 rounds each with Cassamayor getting a 2 point 1st round.
A very close fight, could have been scored either way, and a draw was more than fair.
Anyone who uses the term "Robbery" in regards to this fight really waters down the term.
Save the term "Robbery" for the Lewis vs Holyfields and the Burton vs Augustus type fights.
This was a good competitive fight, and a draw was a solid call.Comment

thye landed the same amount of punches and hbo ignored anything casamayor was doing possibly because he is basically a showtime fighter. Casamayor won by a couple points and pulled it out in the championship roundsComment

Far and away one of the WORST commentaries I've seen HBO do in quite some time. Just awful. And they are often bad, but this was horrid.
They were constantly engaged in long winded distracting conversations that had NOTHING to do with what was going on inside the ring. They would talk for minutes on end, often in direct contrast of what was actually happening in the fight.
I put it on mute for a good chunk of that fight.Comment

haven't scored it yet, but if it was anything like Casamayor-Castillo you people gotta realize that a close fight doesn't mean it's close on the scorecards. almost every round of the Castillo fight was close, but Castillo was winning the rounds. 117-111 doesn't mean it wasn't a close fight, for example. close fight = hard fought, close rounds. scorecards don't reflect itComment
