Comments Thread For: Mayweather Jr: "Pacquiao Better Step His PPV Game Up"

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has told WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao to step his pay-per-view game up if he wants to come to the negotiating table. The hard line by Floyd is setting the stage for what many have expected - a battle over who receives the most money in the fight. The dispute over the issue random drug testing may become a secondary problem. During an interview with BoxingScene.com's Ryan Burton, Mayweather made his position very clear. This is true. If Pacquiao doesn't step up his draw, he may end up not having a claim to the higher percentage of the purse.

If Floyd/Pac negotations do open up again and Floyd/Mosley does more than 2M PPV, then Pac has to get 40%. He has no choice. The numbers are there and they never lie. 40% will still be more than he made in any other fight so it's still not too bad. 40% of $250 million (or even more because the hype will be even bigger) is still a lot.

He does speak English, the problem is that it's broken.

Pac drew 700K with a nobody....his PPV numbers are just fine. Him and floyd could break 3 million, maybe 4 million. Pac and Floyd are by far the most entertaining on 24/7.......

in saying that......Pac and arum are delusional if they think they can demand 50% if this fight does > 2 million PPV buys.....even more delusional are Pac fans who think demanding greater than 50% with numbers like that behind you is a "duck"....plain ignorance of what purse split negotiations are based on.
