Would the 2004 Tyson have beat McBride?

Okay, Tyson's been shot a long, long time, but his deterioration has been swifter each year that passes.

Knee or no knee, he was still pretty hot against Williams last year for three rounds. Not hot enough to contend, but hot enough to earn a living against some top forty guys, maybe.

Okay, Williams and McBride are very different prospects - even though Williams is clearly the better boxer, the height (4 1/2 extra inches on Williams) and blocking tactics of McBride are perhaps more problemmatical to Mike.

But I've never seen such a passive version of Tyson as I saw the other night... and his punches seemingly had no pop on them. Would he have had enough last year?

Here's another thought... if the Tyson of 2005 had gone in with Lewis, would he have been killed? Boxing's a dangerous game, and it's a good thing that Tyson's left it behind.

does it really matter....does anyone really care if the 2004 Tyson could have beaten Mcbride?

Enough...I love Iron Mike as much as anyone but cmon, who gives a ****....he is thru, his ride is over now move on!

Oh by the way does anyone think the 2002 Tyson could beat the 2000 Buster Mathis?

i agree with the people who have been saying that even in his current physical condition tyson could have koed McBride easily if he was still as mentally focused as he used to be.

no, only a 1990 or earlier tyson would have won.

You could see what the thread was about before you clicked onto it. If you weren't interested, you didn't have to join in.

If others are interested, leave it be. It's CURRENT. It only happened this weekend. It's one thread on the front page. You don't like the topic, just go away, yeah?

You make an excellent point Anorak! Your right I did see the thread and had a pretty good idea of what it was about and yet I clicked on it and had to open my smart mouth.

Now to be fair to me you do have to admit that the thread is dog**** right? I mean this is the type of thread that really gets the new posters blood pumping and brain racing...cong**** on stimulating boxingscene's youth.

Now let me ask the question again...
2002 Tyson vs. 2000 Buster Mathis? Man that would have been something right Anorak?
