Golota added to DKP PPV! Rahman Undercard

    Golota added to DKP PPV!

June 13, 2005 - EDITED PRESS RELEASE: Don King Productions comfirmed today that unpredictable heavyweight Andrew Golota will be returning to action on King's August 13, 2005 show in Chicago. Golota will face Przemyslaw "Chemek" Saleta, who has a 42-6 record. Saleta holds a 2002 win over heavyweight contender Luan Krasniqi, but lost the rematch. The main event will feature two top ten heavyweights, Hasim Rahman and Monte Barrett in a
WBC eliminator, with the rest of the line-up being selected from King's deep stable of boxers. "I’m putting together all of the matches on the card this week, and I will announce a star-studded showcase of some of the biggest names in boxing at a press conference in Chicago on Thursday afternoon." Boxers King is currently considering include undisputed world welterweight
champion Zab "Super" Judah; Nicaraguan bomber and former world welterweight champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga; WBA super welterweight champion Alejandro "Terra" Garcia, Belarussian heavyweight Sergei Lyakovich; Owen "What the Heck" Beck; WBA welterweight champion Luis Collazo; former WBC lightweight champion, Mexican legend Miguel Angel Gonzalez; and former WBC heavyweight champion and Chicago’s own Oliver "The Atomic Bull" McCall. Tickets priced at $25, $50, $100, $150, $250 and $400 can be purchased at the United Center Box Office, www.ticketmaster.com, and at all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets can also be charged by phone by calling (312) 559-1212. The event is being promoted by Don King Productions in association with the United Center.

That was only being reported for a week or so. It was pulled a while back. At least this way one Polish guy will win for what will likely be a Polish-heavy crowd...

Meanwhile, I'm not going to go to this one - for the same price as the seat I had 50 feet from the ring behind the press at the United Center (on a card Chris Byrd and Zab Judah were linked to and then pulled...), I can sit ringside for the Vargas-Castillejo, Juarez-Chi the following week.

King did announce this the day before tickets for the Aug. 20 fight go on sale. I imagine this is on purpose, as he knows many people will only be going to one of the two Chicago fights from Aug. 13 and Aug. 20.

Tickets are also cheaper for this United Center event than for Brewster/Golota. Tickets were 500 ringside, 300 next floor level before. Now they're 400, 250 likely in response to the other fight being just 252 for ringside.

I dont wanna see Golota again lol... he should just try to get one good win in against a semi-decent opponnent and then retire - he's had plenty of chances but now his time is up.

Golota is a joke, he never was anything special. Hopefully he gets knocked out again in 1 round and he goes into hiding and we never see him again.
