maori tv is basic cable in new zealand.

hbo is obviously by subscription in new zealand.

i don't know how they would have worked that out.

the problem with tua getting top guys is he doesn't really deserve a fight with the top guys right now.

i think they're going for quantity and not quality to get up in the rankings.

it works when you already have a known name.

    same thing rahman did.

in 2004 , rahman fought al cole , mario cawley , rob calloway and terrance lewis after his loss to john ruiz.

with those 4 straight wins (even against mediocre competition) he got a title eliminator fight and the next year he got a shot at a title.

it works. maybe that's what they're going for.

win a bunch of fights in a row against mediocre opposition and hopefully he can get a title shot.

he barely returned from a 2 year layoff 5 months ago. it's not like he can get top guys right away.

      tua's 5'11 he just says he's 5'9 sometimes as a joke.

      6'3 and 6'4 against a slugger isn't a problem.

he has problems with tall guys with a jab.

What they could have done is have Maori Tv show it in nz and hbo show it in the states, i don't see how thats a problem.

I think its bad that a channel like that is holding back a fighter, they should free him up imo.

I think Tua looks as good as he is ever going to to be honest, he is ready now for a top guy imo, i was impressed with him in the cameron fight

maori tv gave tua an advance when he was off for 2 years because of his legal problems. that's how they were able to sew him up for so many fights. tua needed the money since he couldn't fight.

Oh ok, i suppose thats fair enough then.

The thing that worries me is that I think Tua will fight a Klitschko and not Haye, he has been talking about the klitschkos, and Wlad mentioned him......

tua is like the mayweather of new zealand. millions will watch him fight no matter how ****ty the opponent is. he has them in the palm of his hand and has no reason to take any risks. i'm sure they will be build seldon or shane cameron up as a legit opponent similar to may did with marquez or baldomir. the fans who want to see him actually test himself suffer the most.

What a joke of a fight this is. Tua's not doing a service to himself fighting a bum like Seldon. I predict the first time Seldon tastes David's power he'll take a dive and go down for the count. This is disgraceful....
