Could this cost Floyd the fight?

So assuming that Floyd is the most talented fighter on the planet, can he bring his compete level high enough to beat the toughest challenge he has had in years. Everyone more or less can agree his fights against Hatton and JMM were money grabs, and from a competitive stand point those guys had no business being in the ring with Floyd.

Now that Floyd is facing a truly competitive fighter, one that can compare in speed, power, size etc. can he bring his compete level up enough to win. Its one thing to train hard and be physically prepared for a fight, but it is another to bring your compete level or desire up enough to win a fight. He says himself he fights only for a pay check. Basically he has not had to try very hard to win fights lately and can coast through them, will being in that mind frame cost him this fight?

How do you know any of this? What would you say if Floyd shut Mosley out or made it look just as easy as the other fights? What will the excuse be then? Dont hate on the man because he makes it look easy. You dont say that about Pac when he's killing cats.

Yeah Floyd talked about the check but he also said that he trains like he's poor and thats what everyone tells him. He's not 40-0 by sleeping in silk pajamas. He wants that 0 to stay in the L column. He probably figures that he's going to get paid for the fight either way so he might as well try to win. that way he can get paid again if he wants to.

He will be fine. It doesnt mean he's going to win. He may lose just because Shane is tht good and is a HOF himself but Floyd will be prepared. The size is the olny thing Floyd really has to worry about but thats a big thing. We'll see if he can neturalize it

No one is denying that Floyd don't train hard or any of that, i'm just asking maybe because he hasn't had to really challenge himself in a while he may not be mentally prepared once that bell rings. He may get caught off gaurd because he isn't used to having to step up against larger, faster and stronger boxer than he used to. Sports training is all repetition and developing instincts and reflexes. So in competition if his body and mind are geared to slower smaller men maybe he won't be able to adopt to a larger, faster guy. It may catch him off gaurd. I'm not saying he can't compete, but maybe he has become complacent because he always has every advantage lately, size, speed, strenght and weight.

Its like if Lebron James was always playing one-on-one against bench warmers and college players, beating them easily because he is just that much more talented. Then one day Kobe walks in there and plays him and Kobe beats him cause Lebron is used to less talented players. Its not saying Lebron isn't as, if not more, talented than Kobe, he just hasn't been playing against that talent of a player for a while. So it catches him off gaurd and he can't bring his compete level up quick enough and then he gets beat.

i agree, i believe shane might top floyd and could use his aggresiveness, speed and strength to put floyd through a hell of fight, and even win. its goin to be an interesting fight. but i see your point there kryptonian.
