Let me put it this way, he is the only fighter not in the P4P top 20 that I'd pay to see fight.

Let's say he was fighting the same night as current great, I'd pay to see him over anyone else. If Hopkins/Taylor was free and Gatti/Mayweather was $100 on PPV at the same time, I'd pay for the Gatti fight and watch the BHOP/Taylor fight on replay. He's that fun to watch.

The man is to me what makes this sport great, he's a throwback fighter. He respects his opponents and the fans, and will always give you everything he has. The guy has lost alot of fights and is still possibly the most popular fighter in the world (yes there are about 5 others that can state that claim too). He has improved his boxing skills (movement, defense, etc) tremendously over the past few years and he'll come in huge compared to most 140 pounders. Usually that annoys the **** outta me, but since I think PBF is a women hitting little ***** I hope Gatti comes in at 160 and walks right through Floyd's patsy shots and punishes him. Gatti will take one to give one, and if Castillo hurt Mayweather (which he did). I guarantee Gatti can hurt him. We will probably see a boxing clinic, similar to that of Wright/Trinidad....with one exception. Gatti won't let the fight go on just getting drilled with a jab all night. If after 4-5 rounds he can't get inside, he will make the fight a backyard brawl and invite Floyd to hit him just so he can land a punch. I don't think Gatti is overrated, he just has alot of fans. He's my favorite active boxer and I know he's not a great pugilist, but he's a great man and a great entertainer and for that he'll get my backing in every fight until he decides to hang em up.

Gatti is a guy that gives 100% for every minute of every round that he fights. He doesn't ever back down, and no matter how bad he is hurt, he will come back swinging.

In the grand scheme of things, he is not all that great of a boxer and his defense is pretty poor.

But at the end of the day, he is a fighter that looks way better losing than he has winning his last two fights with Dorin and an Leigha. People want to see a brawl and a bloodbath. That is not really what boxing is all about, but it is what the fans want, especially in New Jersey, and and if the opponent is ready, Gatti has always delivered.

Of interesting note, I think that Gatti has started about 10 rounds in worse shape than Tszyu was when he decided not to come out for the 12th round.

Gatti is a fight fans dream, the type of fighter who will create boxing fans overnight.

Now with that said he has been overrated of late and too me he is fools gold.

Gatti needs to revert back to old Gatti if he is to have any shot in his fight against the pretty boy. If Arturo thinks that his newly found boxing skills are going to work against the most gifted fighter in the game then he should just quit now!

Arturo's only shot is to brawl early and often, dont let PBF breath!!!!!!! I hope he comes in at as high a weight as he can possibly carry and he throws a ton of punches, he needs to get in and pound away and hope his power is the differnce.

Again if he thinks he can win a boxing match with Floyd he will be embarrassed. His only shot is overwelming floyd with his size and power.

**** the boxing lets brawl Arturo-it is your only hope!

Expose him to be what? Im pretty sure everybody knows the caliber of fighter he is by now, and he is the underdog going into the fight. To expose someone dont they have to be favored or deemed to be the better fighter?

extremely overrated fighter with a lot of heart.

to put into perspective how badly overrated he is, follow me on this one:

floyd mayweather demolishes mickey ward. gatti has three wars with ward, and loses one of the fights, and has a hard time in all of them.

floyd mayweather has somewhat of a hard time with demarcus corley, but beats him nonetheless. cotto gets dazed by corley, but beats him handily, and cotto is now a bum because he got dazed against a fighter that gave mayweather some trouble. by that line of thinking, gatti should be considered a bum.

moral of the story? fans love bloody wars, but gatti by no means is a "great" fighter, hes overrated.

Am I getting that Gatti's only an averagely talented fighter for his level, but an extremely popular and crowd-pleasing one? I'm cool with that.

I got this friend at school who is another Gatti fan and he said his gonna beat Mayweather easily...You see what overrated fighters do to general fans??

He said he will bet all his money on it..

I told him, "If you're gonna bet like that, you already lost all your money."

People love Gatti because he's entertaining. People like to see Gatti as the underdog, and get his ass kicked, and struggle to make a comeback in the fight. I don't know if there's too many people that think he's an all-time great, but a lot of people love to watch him fight. Gatti vs Ward was not a clash between two top rank fighters, but it was still one of the most entertaining boxing matches I've ever seen.
