Shane is 39 years old and hasn't fought in almost a year and a half. If he doesn't make an immediate impact in this fight, he has NO chance. Constantly missing your best shots against a quicker and more skilled opponent not only drains the body, but it also drains the mind.

You can implement an excellent strategy to outhustle or outwork Floyd.

Or try to expose his defense in one way or another...

But the thing about fighting Floyd is..

You can't get tired while you are doing it.

      At all.

      In any round.

Floyds stamina is partially what makes him so great.. his skills coupled with the fact the man does not get tired, at all.

To me it's one of the biggest differences in this fight... I think Floyd will be able to sustain a higher energy level than Shane consistently throughout 12 rounds.

mosley is purshing 40 so you never know...

        Pistol Whip coming out swinging!

        Good post.

Nobody is saying his footwork is nonexistent.

But it boils down to two things.

        A) What you can do against Margarito, and what you can do against Floyd (in terms of footwork) are two totally different things.

        B) Shane's footwork HAS gone down hill.

Which is to be expected.. he isn't 25 anymore.

Good footwork isn't about looking cool for the cameras it's about how effective is it for you and against Margarito Shane delt out a beating but everytime Margarito fired back he hit nothing by air because Mosely had already moved out of range. It's not like he was stalking him ala Julio Ceasar Chavez and just walking into the guy. Seriously next you are gonna tell me that Bernard Hopkins, Wladamir K, Vitali K, Winky Wright, and Lennox Lewis all had horriable footwork because they didn't "bounce" or don't "look" slick enough.
Actually Hopkins does plenty of bouncing around, keeping his legs active at all times.

And since we're talking about Mosley-Margarito, Cotto did plenty of bouncing around, more than in his usual fights which was out of character for him. Alot more than MOsley had to do. Mosley was alot more more stationary than Cotto.

But see how this goes, you overreact to my post because I said flatfooted (which is probably not the best way of saying it) and insult my knowledge and I return the favor mocking your wording of calling what Mosley did dancing (which probably isn't the best word for it either). Don't overreact calling people names, focus on the context of the entire post and we're good.

Then why was Cotto running? I prefer the aggressor so I had Shane winning. Cotto was on his bike, Shane was tracking to kill.

Yeah using the Cotto fight as an example of Mosley NOT getting stronger isn't a good idea
