Comments Thread For: Huck Plans To Batter Minto; Edouard Returns on 4/30

WBO Cruiserweight Champion Marco “Captain” Huck (28-1, 21 KOs) and American challenger Brian “The Beast” Minto (34-3, 21 KOs) today came face-to-face for the first time ahead of Saturday´s world title clash in Oldenburg, Germany. Just like yesterday at the press training, Minto was again wearing dark sunglasses – but only until Huck took them off him during the stare-down. “I wanted to see his eyes,” the champion said. “And he should get a good look at me so that he has an idea of what will be waiting for him on Saturday. I never underestimate any opponent, but Minto will not be leaving with my title, you can be sure of that.” [Click Here To Read More]

    That's Motivation?

Wow, he's really struggling to find motivation if defending the legacy of Axel Shulz is all he can come up with. I think Minto has a reasonable chance at the upset based on that alone.

If u need "extra" motivation to beat minto, then minto deserves to win.

Second pathetic defense in a row for Huck. I am hoping this is not the start of an Erdei-like title reign

But he's fighting frequently, and I'm confident he will take on a top cruiserweight later this year.

Since September 2008 WBA titleholder Guillermo Jones has had ZERO title defenses.

Marco Huck has had about TEN fights during that time, including some tough opponents like Afolabi and Ramirez.

As I've said before, I totally agree with you on Jones. Should have been stripped last year IMO. Amazingly, the guy he KO'd for the title 19 months ago, Arslan, is still ranked highly by the WBA, despite not having fought since. The WBA is a sham organization.
I like Huck, but I can't understand two crappy defenses in a row against opponents with no business in a title fight.
He needs to fight Lebedev by the end of the year, but the WBO has a history of ignoring mandatory challengers so I'm not holding my breath
