    erik morales legacy appreciation thread

if erik morales ended his career after the 1st pacquiao fight with a career record of 48 and 2(only 2 losses 2 barrera but 1 win for erik vs barrera)

how great would he be remembered, would he woulda wound up as the greatest mexican fighter of all time, knowing hes beaten every fighter hes faced at least one time and hes only lost to 1 fighter in a really close fight twice(barrera)

morales resume woulda been crazy(48-2 arguably 50 and 0 if not from close decision)

    wins over...................

    zaragoza
    j.jones
    espadas(twice)
    hernandez
    ayala
    j.chavez
    k.kelley
    mc collough
    chi
    ramirez
    barrera
    pacquiao

would he been considered the greatest mexican boxer of all time considering hes a 3 weight division world champ and last fighter to have beaten pacquiao in boxing at 48 and 2

i personally think he was the greatest mexican fighter ever but everyone disagrees and i think if he ended his career after the pacquiao fight, i think morales woulda been easily in the top 15 greatest fighters of all time

what do people think about morales, the most exciting fighter arguably in boxing history, the type of fighter who fights for the fans

Barrera was the man, but Morales was and is my favorite fighter of all time. I still have him winning the first two fights against Barrera. He gave away his last against Barrera. I only have to say that MAB got out thrown by 200 punches in the first one, though MAB got the better of a lot of exchanges Morales was the more active fighter and the champion, MAB didn't take the belt from him, it was given to him.

Morales is my favorite fighter but I am young so it is unfair for me to give him love. Morales fought for the fans, he could have easily boxed his way to several easy wins but brought it for the fans, hell the 12th round of the Pac-Morales 1 fight shows his love for the fans. If Morales was in his prime he would have punked Pac straight up, he was past it even in his first fight. I also think he deserved the nod in his championship bout at 130 against Diaz, that was BS.

Im aboard. Hes my favorite fighter. I wish he would have gotten the Hamed fight instead of Mab or atleast before Mab did while Hamed was undefeated. I wanted to see that fight so bad, I know morales would have gotten into some crazy exchanges with him but I think he would come out on top.

You know what's up bro... .

I saw him when I was a little kid man I was 9 years old when I saw him in plaza de toros here in TJ when he knocked out Junior Jones.

He's my favorite fighter of all time, I've always respected him and always had deep appreciation for what he did in the ring and how he would never make excuses for losing. He always gave it his best in the ring but even though he left his legacy with 4 straight losses and left many people with a bad taste of him, I still remember him being an ATG and he's honestly my personal hero...
