Is Shane Mosley Overrating His Speed?

I'm not saying Shane is not quick with his hands at all. He's one of the fastest fighters in the sport. But in order to beat Floyd would speed, it has to be methodical and unpredictable. A fighter like Margarito or Cotto who aren't as defensive as Floyd and cannot read fighters like Mayweather can will have trouble with the handspeed that Shane has because Shane doesn't have to be extremely accurate to catch them. But Floyd is another animal. The line of sight isn't there.

Speed won't be a factor, Shanes lack of defense and his straight forward attacks will be.

Yes he is. Zab Judah also had the speed advantage against Mayweather and that got him no where; after Mayweather adjusted.

He's a fast puncher but a predictable puncher. Floyd will see everything he throws from a mile away. He won't land often so he'll have to make the punches he can land count. He's shown that ability, though, so I think he has a shot.

Mosley is fast but I think he's overrating the way he can use it in this fight. Speed always looks good against a slow stationary target. If you noticed, Mosley did not look exceptionally fast against Cotto because of the way Cotto fought Mosley.

He is definitely overrating his speed... I've been re-watching some Shane fights and one big flaw I was noticing with him, other then his wide punches that leave him open... is that he "paws with the jab"... that will play a big factor in him loosing this fight.. in his most recent fights he's been fighting in spurts, much like Berto does now, this will also lead to his downfall this Saturday
