Well, this could an interesting thread.
Of the current fighters, I think these guys are possibly taking something illegal -
Andre Ward - Refuses to leave Oakland to fight. Apparently they would consider fighting in Detroit, probably because of the lack of post-fight drug testing. I find it very su****ious. He is also working with Victor Conte. Conte has supplied numerous athletes with illegal substances. It is quite telling that Ward associates himself with Conte.
Andre Dirrell - His fight Abraham was moved from California a few weeks before the fight was to take place due to a mysterious back injury. How Dirrell knew that his back would be ok for a certain date, I don't know.Ii have had problems with my back and it could drag on much longer than expected. After the fight with Abraham, it was revealed that there was no post-fight drug testing. I found this very su****ious. It makes you wonder if that was the reason the fight was moved in the first place.
David Haye - After his fight with Enzo Maccarinelli, Haye took a lot of time off and claimed he was 'building' himself in to a heavyweight. Haye weighed in for his fight with Monte Barrett at only 215 pounds. Haye would probably have nearly rehydrated to that weight after his cruiserweight fights. Hmm, I don't think there was much to 'build' in to. Haye was a heavyweight who boiled himself down to cruiserweight. I suspect Haye had something to hide. Whenever I hear of people 'building' themselves in to a certain weight category I get su****ious.
Other fighters I have no need to mention in great detail due it being obvious they were taking illegal substances, such as Roy Jones and Evander Holyfield.
I have to agree with Floyd Mayweather in regards to Olympic-style drug testing. There are fighters out there cheating and they need to be weeded out. Mayweather's motives may be more to get in to some people's heads but I can't disagree with the principle of what he is saying.
