    The darkhorse of the heavyweights

The darkhorse of the heavyweight divison is Shannon Briggs. He's got the athleticism, speed, punching ability, chin and heart to make a mark on the heavyweight divison (see Lennox Lewis vs. Shannon Briggs). Anyone know how old he is now? This could be a factor in determining whether he will win a title any time soon.

he's got a bad defence, he gets hit to easy, even an old george foreman had no trouble hitting him, and lewis although troubled early on, easily won that fight in the end, he's one of those guys that had a lot of ability but just lacked a couple of things needed to be great.

Having trouble with foreman and losing to LL doesn't mean anything, Those are 2 of the top 10 HW's of alltime. Briggs has a chance to make some noise. Noone in the top ten right now would stand a chance with LL, and would have had alot of trouble with 47year old Foreman.

I've been plugging Briggs for some time now, and was laughed at for mentioning him as having a bright future in the division. I think he has just enough to cause big problems for the current top ten, assuming he trains hard and keeps his stamina up. We'll see.

I'd love to see Briggs vs. Peter after Peter defeats Sykes. This could take place in September or October on HBO or Showtime and the winner could/should get a title shot.

This would be a perfect HBO BAD main event and a solid Showtime championship boxing undercard fight.

yeah, briggs vs. peter does sound good. give briggs a chance to get back in the game while he still has some of his youth left. and give peter a decent challenge for once. its a lets-see-what-happens-here fight.

I'm not so sure about Briggs.

                  He couldn't even beat McCline.

                    I'd pick Sam over Briggs.
