John Murray fights for the European lightweight title at the Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes on May the 7th against Cardiff’s Gary Buckland. Murray had hoped to fight in front of his hometown fans but the proposed venue, Altrincham Leisure Centre, is unavailable leaving Murray with the short trip to Widnes, where fellow Mancunian Ricky Hatton launched his professional career.
