He had a tough start, no doubt. But he has made a lot of excuses during his career. He had a lot of raw power and talent, but lacked dedication. Look at Ruiz, he worked his ass off and did very well for himself, considering his limitations. Briggs had all the physical tools, but apparently didn't train anywhere near hard enough.
I'll always remember that fight with Lewis though, even if was only a couple of scary rounds for Lewis. Lewis just couldn't deal with his hand speed for a while.
