Any posters here want to be boxing trainers or have a boxing related job one day?

Goodness no...you can if you choose..but no..Ive done few of those(and thats just to get them on resume..and when no other fights were avail)..they are great to judge, but the pay is less

Oh OK, is it the same way in all the states? Or different commission different rules?

Somebody can correct me if Im wrong but I think Joe Calzaghes dad basically taught himself the sport. He might be the exception and not the rule though.

Interesting quote. Joes style is what won him all of those fights. There has never been anything like it.

From what I seen from Calzaghe he didnt always slap like that. He has terrible hands hence the slapping.

its all very much the same..once you are officially licensed, you can judge in any state(but newbies usually build there resume in State first)
..there is no rule that you have to start out in amateurs..(though the more established judges are usually the first chosen..so the newbies are left with the last pick)..but thats why I say network..once you are more known(state wise!)..sanctions/promoters will request you..and you can land bigger fights easier..I think youd be great at it (judging)..
TX is pretty close to my state as far as rules I believe..
I say that because my dad sanctions fights there all the time..

I think about half the posters here are more knowledgeable about boxing than many of the well known boxing writers who are slightly more informed than casual fans.
