I actually have another career but I would love to get into judging, cause I know it's not a full time thing, and I love and analyze boxing like a science... did you find anything out about that?

Yeah, you can teach yourself so much by just watching boxing fights. But it is important to truly watch them. You observe the foot movements, the combinations, anticipate what and when a fighter is going to throw, etc. It is really cool. Boxing is tough sport.

make sure you have a flexable work schedule..thats why it took me over a year..I had a hectic schedule at first..also you have to pay for the application fee(although mine was waived cause I know the boxing commissioner and wanted me, so he waived all the cost that normally would be)and you may or may not be approved(non-refundable)..
they will ask you a bunch of questions to see if they even want to bother..then you will be tested..if they accept you..you will shadow boxing events to their disgression..and you pay for all your fees too..so if you have to travel 150 miles to shadow a match..they dont pay for anything..then once/if they feel like your cards are compared well enough with the match/judges..they will invite you to attend a seminar..then you become licensed..then from there..you network your ass off...lol!
when I was shadowing..I seen the same judges all the time..so I had to take small events..but it pays off..I judged my first showtime bout last month..and just did charity fight night..huge deal..SRL was there!!!

I have one technique that I would want to apply. I don't know if I thought about it myself but it has to do with using a metronome to increase punching speed. Pretty much the way a musician would use a metronome to increase the speed in his playing, a fighter would start off at a certain tempo and punch at say 60 beats per minute or 1 punch every second. Then slowly you would increase the tempo to 120 beats per minute or 2 punches per second and so on. I also use 18 oz. gloves as a way to increase speed.
