I am finally sold on Cotto...

It is not always about looking spectacular every fight. Especially when your opponent (Abby) goes into survival mode with his gloves up the entire night. Sometimes fighters just get those fights where you cannot land every shot clean. I was most impressed with his patience and composer. He knew Abby was just going to block everything in order to not get knocked out, yet Cotto was still selective and took his time. Cotto like a true pro decided to try to win on the cards while occassionally throwing nice power combos if he saw an opening. It is hard for any fighter to look great when their opponent just survives.

Foreman, one of the most feared punchers in history did not knock EVERYONE he faced and beat out.

I also like watching Cotto fight off the ropes the way he does. Would be interesting with him and Hatton. Cotto will be on the ropes, will be interesting to see if Hatton can keep him there and if Cotto can unload those combos on him. Kostya is not a combination puncher and not mobile. Cotto is.

I've been a fan of Cotto since he first started boxing. He really is a prospect, and solid overall fighter. I have high hopes for him. In a year or so he should definately go for the big boys.

He is a real bright spot. I am most impressed with he and Taylor
among the new wave of contenders.
They keep me optimistic about the future of the sport.

I want to see how Cotto's punching power transfers to 147. I don't think he'll be back at 140. Cotto is a solid fighter and seems to have a bright future.

Cotto will never reach the STAR power of TRINIDAD, but technically he is a better boxer. He can do alittle bit of everything and pretty well too. I feel like Cotto is the future of the WELTERweight (147) division. It's obvious that he will move up in the near future and I feel that with some time he could be one of the greats.

I have to disagree with you on 1 thing. Cotto will definitely reach STAR power of Tito if not surpass it. He has so many people clinging to him very rapidly because of his style, composure, power and dedication to the sport.

            QUE VIVA MIGUEL COTTO!!!!!!

I mean star power with everyone not just puerto ricans. I am not Puerto Rican and Trinidad was one of my all time favorites. I dont think cotto could ever reach the star power of tito. Even nonfans of boxing are willing to watch trinidad just like how poeple just like the watch tyson. Cotto will not be able to get the casual fan to go run out and watch a cotto fight.

Whoa! I think that's makin a conclusion quite quickly.

Cotto is a young highly regarded prospect. No one knows fo sure if he will get that star status, but you can't say like etched in a diamond, "he wont"!

Cotto is a Knockout fighta, so he's exciting and peeps like those type of fightas, ye know? Cotto will be a big star in the fucha in my opinion.
