Comments Thread For: Carl Froch's Trainer Breaks Down The Kessler Defeat

Over the weekend, Carl Froch, 26-1 (20 KOs), lost his WBC super middleweight title in Herning, Denmark after a gruelling points defeat to Mikkel Kessler. The lopsided scores of 113-115, from Guido Cavalleri, 112-116, courtesy of Daniel Van De Wiele, and 111-117, via Roger Tilleman, left Carl ruing his sluggish start to the contest. Listening to Steve Bunce inbetween rounds is also part of my scoring criteria. Thanks mate.

He's one of your kind, he is the British announcers who helps hype up your British fighters. And even he tells the truth about Froch being hurt. How did Froch enjoy back-peddling all night long? He'll do more back-peddling against AA if he has the balls to get in the ring with AA. Maybe Froch can do the boxing world a favor and quit the super 6 and go into retirement where he won't be missed since he doesn't got that much of a fan-base anyways.

Carl Froch loss because he was trying to fight like Dirrell and not Carl Froch.

He had a lethargic work rate. Just because you make your opponent miss doesn't mean you will win. You win by hitting your opponent, which Froch did little of.

Even as a fan of Carl Froch, he disappointed me this fight. He deserved a loss but in no way shape or form did he lose that wide a UD. It should have been a SD at worse.

Well, we have this in boxing all the time. Terrible judging, but no one who has a brain can deny that it was a close fight to score. A loss is a loss, its not the end of the world. It should make someone want to prove themselves that much more. But!, Abraham is also coming off a similar predicament but he got his ass beat though much worse! Losing every round is bad!

I have to give it to Froch....that was a hell of a fight and by FAR the best fight so far of the SUPER 6.
              But.......
I think the game plan for Froch was to be cautious because Kessler is a viscous counterpuncher.
Froch as I and MANY other people have stated over and over again waste too much energy trying to be a Roy Jones clone and looking a fool for trying.
I even saw that idiot trying to do the shoulder roll.
Kessler hurt him VERY badly in the eight round...he did a funky chicken dance and was almost out of there trying to be Roy Jones.
He just does ****** **** that in my opinion wate energy and takes away from his effectiveness.
I for sure thought Kessler won he was by far the most aggressive landing the most shots and backing Froch up.
Froch cant complain because when he got that decision against Dirrell ....he did absolutely NOTHING in that fight.
Do you remember any LEGAL punch he threw or combination?
He did nothing in that fight....although Dirrell almost knocked him out in the 11th he was staggered on the ropes.....as a matter of fact in his last 3 fights he has been hurt and close to being knocked out.

I do for some strange reason think he can beat Abraham.

It was a great fight however and the people got their moneys worth.
I thought Frochs' girlfriend would have the baby right then and there did you see the look on her face after seeing her boyfriend getting knocked around that ring?

                  Whoa!!

I just rewatched this fight, and I dont want to say it, but it ended up a dead tie in my eyes, with Froch maybe winning.
This is where the hometown decision comes in.
If it was England, Froch would be crowned.
And in Denmark, rightly so, Mikkel is winner.

But the judge who scored 117-111 is a crackhead!!

The only time Froch was stunned in the fight was when Kessler hit him with that right in the mouth. Still didn't really bother Froch though, he just came back with bombs - his legs were fine as he was moving in and out. Anyone who thinks he was ready to go was either drunk or blind. Probably both.
