hey has anyone noticed how kessler wings his right hand alot now? i noticed it last night, and during the ward fight... its not NEAR as straight as it used to be... even al bernstein was talking about it... was saying kessler a year an a half ago was a much sharper puncher, and i agree.... never did you see him loop or wing a right hand in the calzaghe fight... anyways, just thought id point that out... discuss

yes
i noticed that but think this mite be his new style coz if he connects with 1 flush its lights out for most fighters , could have just been a tactic to use against froch though coz he does drop hands often. we shall see in greene fighthey has anyone noticed how kessler wings his right hand alot now? i noticed it last night, and during the ward fight... its not NEAR as straight as it used to be... even al bernstein was talking about it... was saying kessler a year an a half ago was a much sharper puncher, and i agree.... never did you see him loop or wing a right hand in the calzaghe fight... anyways, just thought id point that out... discuss -

Kessler seems to have regressed as a fighter, I have no idea why. He's way sloppier than he used to be, throwing much more wide, looping punches which he rarely used to do. His footwork is all over the place, he was so square at times against Froch, his right foot was almost parallel to his left foot when he threw his shots, his chin kept coming up when he was throwing, he was moving straight back from shots.
A very different fighter to the calculating textbook fighter that he was a few years ago, maybe the injuries have taken their toll, he definitely doesn't commit to the straight right hand to the head as much as he used to and that might explain why he throws the wide, semi slapping right hands as well, if I'm not mistaken that's the hand that he required surgery on.Comment

I think the reason he was doing it is because Froch would hang his left hand out there and pump it just as Kessler threw so that Kesslers rights and jabs would fall short just.
By looping it over the top he could connect instead of falling short, its was a small adjustment I think.Comment
