It's called being HONEST. I applaud him for it. Maybe he makes himself hard to like by saying it in such a confrontational and boisterous way, but at least he keeps it real. Being authentic is much more commendable to me than trying to build yourself up as this warrior who only does it for pride. If that were true, they'd do it for free. Everyone fights for money.
ANGULO: "I Care About the Fight, Not the Money!"

You do have a point, there are occasional fighters that want to prove them selfs and don't care about the money.
Realisticly speaking, if a fighter does this and fights for the competition will be ok on the financial end anyways, but more importantly he will earn the respect of the majority of boxing fans.
Boxing always needs more of these true warriors!Comment

Lie? shutup man he doesnt have to lie. He should just not mention it. Im sure there is some miniscule part of Mayweather that fights for the love of the game and for his legacy, so he should be telling us about that part of him.
Not about the enormous part of him that only works hard the gym so he can keep making paychecks. NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR THAT. HOW THE **** CAN U DEFEND THAT
thats not at ALLLLLLLLLLL what im saying. Im saying you dont tell every media member who will listen that you are fighting for the paycheck.Kball, stop trying to act like it cant be both. I say this all the time about different things. Everyone always acts like its one way or the other. Floyd fights for his check just like everyoen else does. We all try to get the most money we can. Still, that doesnt mean that he's conning the public in any way or that he's cheating the sport. Did you watch him train? Like he said, he trains like he's broke. It would be one thing if he said he fought for money, then came in the ring fat & overweight while getting beat on the regular. No, he fights for money but still bust his ass harder than anyone on the sport and is dedicated to being the best in the sport
NBODY wants to ****in hear that. ITs rediculous. Its laughable that u guys defend this sorta ****. Its a problem with all athletes, but when was the last time you heard kobe say he only shows up for work for the paycheck? If he ever did the negative fan response would be ridiculous.Comment

I don't believe him. I'm sure he loves boxing and it maybe a fetish for him to keep eating other fighters punches while try to punish them himself. But I doubt he'd do this job for free.Comment

why? he's obviously just lieing to himself and/or the fans, he cares only about the money, best believe thatComment

Youre mixing apples and oranges, Floyd's response was to Mosley who said he doesnt fight for money, so Floyd said, well he does. Maybe Shane is the one who should change his approach, while he is so called fighting for legacy, he talks punchy, borrows 2 million from Golden Boy and has always fought for short money. I mean this is Shane Mosley, supposed to be a big star, yet he has never fought for over 6 million dollars in a single fight before, thats distastrous on his part. He's fought Oscar twice and never even got 6 million even after beating Oscar.Lie? shutup man he doesnt have to lie. He should just not mention it. Im sure there is some miniscule part of Mayweather that fights for the love of the game and for his legacy, so he should be telling us about that part of him.
