I have no idea what I am feeling right now, I cannot explain what is going through my head. Witnessing my idol, the person that got me into boxing "Hmm this guy sounds famous, I should watch some videos of him" quitting on his stool. It just truely saddened me, that speach he gave at the end brought a tear to my eye. The feeling of seeing your idol, a legend in your eyes, to quit like that. I really hoped Mike would pull it through, so he could pay off his debts and live his life great. I am very worried about him right now...

Tyson... a sad end.
It was a shame to see Tyson's end tonight... visited in his dressing room by Muhammad Ali* and entering the ring to a calvacade of cheers... then leaving the rings to boos and mild jeers from the crowd, his career over.
A great shame... when they put the sponge on Tyson's head at the end the water falling past his eyes made it look like tears. A shame that he had to go out on such a low note, losing to arguably the least skilled opponent he'd ever faced, and in such a lacklustre display. Despite the commentary team raving about Tyson's body shots, the only thing of vintage Mike Tyson tonight was the persistent fouling, which added a bit of spark to the slow and passive proceedings.
One thing I'm glad about is that Tyson realised he was too old and too unfocussed to continue to be involved with the game. I recently posted a thread asking if members would be concerned for Tyson's safety, but I didn't mean in this fight... I meant the ones that would follow. Seeing the trouble Mike had with McBride's size and the little impact he had on him, imagine what would happen if a man the same size but with far superior skills and power was against him? (Vitali). I honestly think Tyson could have been seriously impaired, and in his forties he really needs to be home with his children. I think he's deserved it.
I had £10 on McBride just for kicks. I'm about to add up my winnings, but it's one bet I almost wish I hadn't won.
* What was more embarrassing, the entire crowd ignoring the good Mitchell fight when Ali walked in, or Jim Gray gracelessly saying "What?" to a virtually inaudible Muhammad?Comment
